Organizing and planning your schedule can be darn stressful, especially at the start of a new year! With several to-do lists from different areas of your life, calendars, reminders and so on. I don’t know about you, but I like to have a pen and paper method along with electronics, after all, it is always a good backup plan if technology craps out on you. And as you know there is something powerful about pen to paper methods!
I thought I would give you FIVE handy tips for organizing your calendar like a BOSS.
Step 1: Buy a 2020 yearly organizer, doesn’t need to be anything fancy. And something small/midsize that can fit in your purse or bag is a good idea.
Step 2: Buy a notepad with blank pages. Nice options @indigo.
Step 3: Pull out your phone and open your calendar. (If you have a partner, then I highly recommend sharing your calendars, so you see theirs as well). Write all the scheduled events from your phone into your 2020 organizer (add any new ones you know of). Start small with just January, if you feel like going into February and March than go for it!
Step 4: Once this is done open your notepad, date it and write down your TO-DO List. I recommend to have at least 3 CATEGORIES: CAREER/HOME/PERSONAL – Each would be written on a different page. Just get the list down, worry about prioritizing them later.
Step 5: Prioritize your to-do list and make sure you use reminders on your phone for the urgent ones
*tip: When you don’t have your organizer, and need to schedule a date in the calendar always add to your phone calendar first (most convenient when you are out) and then add to your 2020 organizer when you get a chance.
HAPPY ORGANIZING – YOU GOT THIS!
Until next time,
